I encounter God through beauty. The beauty of His people, His creation. The beauty of the magnificent sky and the tiny acorn. Through color, laughter, light and music. The beauty of this world overwhelms me and inspires me.

Four years ago we began the beautiful journey to bring our son home through adoption. 

As a fundraiser, my sister and two friends each graciously hosted an art show so I could sell my paintings. I loved the process of painting and praying for James, and loved knowing each piece was going in the home of people that loved and supported us in this journey. After he was home, I began to paint again. After praying about what to do with theses new paintings, God made it clear to me — celebrate other families seeking to adopt. Now each and every painting I sell benefits a family adopting a child. I not only get the gift of painting, but also the privilege of praying for these children to find their forever home.

I was created to create. I deeply believe we all are ... whether it's a flower bed, a pot of soup, a thoughtful note, or a colorful painting. We are blessed each day with the opportunity to create a little more beauty, peace, justice, grace, love and beauty in this world. 

 

I want to encounter God through beauty each day and hopefully create a little too.
